How to stop browsing with my Airtel airtime? (Stop Airtel PAYU)

There are three major ways you can stop Airtel PAYU:

Buy a data bundle

If you want to opt out of Airtel PAYU, then you will need to buy a data bundle by dialing the code *141#. You can buy any data bundle from the list shown to you, and in the process, you will be asked “What should happen when your bundle is exhausted?”.

You can select the option of continue browsing from my Airtime, or in this case, you will select “Stop my data”.

Once you select this option, you will automatically be opted out of PAYU. This means that when your active data plan is exhausted, you will need to buy a new one to access the internet.

Dial the USSD code

You can also stop Airtel from deducting your credit when browsing by dialing the code *400*1#. You will receive a prompt letting you know that you have been unsubscribed from the Airtel FREE SURF offer.

If you want to opt back to PAYU, you will need to dial the code *400#.

Call customer care

If you are having troubles with the above, you can always call the airtel customer care number and tell them to unsubscribe you from PAYU, and they will do it for you.
